WORKS DIRECTOR COMPLETES 25 YEARS SERVICE
Last week BGB Innovation celebrated the 25th year of service from Works Director Dave Gilbert.
Dave joined BGB on 24 April 1982 on a government funded scheme when he was 16 years old. He started work as an operative back in 1982 joining an existing team of only four men. “I started out learning how to make tools under the chief tool maker. Soon after joining the company we started to produce moulded sliprings to compliment our existing brushgear range.” Dave recalled “…BGB continued to grow at a steady rate and by 1986 I was promoted to Supervisor.”
Learning the right skills and showing great enthusiasm throughout, Dave was promoted to Works Manager in 1993. BGB continued to grow at a steady rate with staff and output gradually increasing.
Becoming Works Director in 1999, Daves duties changed and now finds himself utilising his time production planning, helping team leaders meet their targets, running the Tooling Team, and problem solving, alongside his day-to-day Director duties.
Dave has been rewarded for long service with a 32" Sony Bravia HD TV, a TomTom satellite navigation system and a heartfelt applause and congratulatory ceremony from all his colleagues at BGB. Dave thanked his colleagues and said, “25 years have gone by so fast, it doesn’t seem 5 minutes ago when I was a young naive 16 year old learning a new trade! Over the past 25 years I’ve seen how well the company has grown and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

BGB would like to thank Dave on his achievement and are proud to have him as the Works Director.
